Thanksgiving

It was a great low-key Thanksgiving. Greg and I roasted a 13 pounder. We did the brining thing last night. I think it helps. Greg bought an organic turkey that had a pop up timer. In our case it really worked. It has been a tradition on my side of the family to put bacon on top of the turkey. What I did was I roasted the turkey for an hour breast side down to try and get the juices into the breast. Then I flipped it over and put bacon strips side by side on top of the breast. Cheap, thin bacon works best. As the bacon cooks, the bacon fat drips on the breast and prevents it from drying out. The cripsy bacon is always a favorite with the kids.

I took this picture of the boys today. At one point Greg and I had decided not to get them gameboys because we thought they isolated kids. They really don't. Our boys often watch eachother play, or they play "versus" where you can play eachother from two different gameboys at the same time. I think this picture kind of captures so much. Jeremy is my introspective thinker. Grayson is so playful, and he often looks to Jonathan for help. Jonathan is always happy and he makes it his business to make sure everyone is okay. See how he is looking to see how Grayson is doing. Also, look how Jonathan got himself dressed while Jeremy and Grayson chose to stay in their pjs. This picture says so much. Plus Grayson has cute toes.
