We pray with the boys at bedtime some nights, but it's not a ritual. What we didn't realize is that Jer is praying even when we don't go in to pray with him. G went in tonight to tuck him in, and Jer was praying out loud. What he was praying really touched us. G heard him say, "and dear God, I want to pray for all the kids in the hospital..." and then G placed his hand on Jer's head to pray with him, and Jer just sort of rapped it up and closed his prayer. I've heard both Jon and Jer pray some really neat things. I am so proud of all my boys. Even Gray is good about putting his little hands together when we pray at dinnertime. And here is an email I sent to Aunt Chrissy in February;
"G was saying bedtime prayers with Gray, and G prayed for a good night sleep and a good day tomorrow (typical two year old bedtime stuff), and then G said amen. Gray said really quickly, "I want to pray for Randy", so then G prayed for Randy. Gray understands a lot more than we give him credit I guess... :-)"
