Insisting On Using A Spoon
Gray is at that stage where he wants to feed himself. The problem is that he doesn't have the dexterity to do it yet. He can scoop up whatever he is eating, but then as he is bringing the spoon to his mouth, he turns the spoon upside down every time. Gerber makes a dip stick especially for babies called the Lil Dipper. We might try that.

First of all - Grayson's lips look just like mine in this picture.
Secondly - sorry. I think I taught Grayson this, but what I did was sit next to him and put my hand on his/the spoon and guide it into his mouth. I also then kind of did the whole motion where you lift the spoon up in the mouth so it scoops in. He was amenable to that when I fed him. He also only did it with oatmeal when I fed him, because he somehow realized that oatmeal sticks to the spoon so much better.
As soon as I put the spoon in his hand I knew I had done something that would make your life harder because he's so very independent, but the die was cast. Sorry.
Randy said that when Michael was Grayson's age there was a fork/spoon you could buy that stayed upright - no matter what the child did to the handle.
