Southbeach Diet that is. I am officially starting tomorrow. I bought the book and everything. I bought all the foods to get through Phase I. Phase I lasts for two weeks, and then it is on to Phase II.
G and I actually went on a date. My friend, Terissa, who was taking the same certification course in Houston last week that I was, offered to watch the boys. So G and I went to 50 Yard Line and had steak, then we went over to Barnes and Noble with the idea that we would puruse the books and get dessert at Starbucks which we did. G got the Bananas Foster cheesecake, and I got the almond biscotti.
I was thinking about trying the Southbeach Diet since I have some skinny friends who do Southbeach. Also, the idea of lowering my cholesterol and eating more heart healthy sounds good. I picked up the book, and at the top of the cover it said "Lose Belly Fat First". I said, "Sign me up!" So I am giving it a try. It sounds better than the Atkins diet in that you can have carbs, just not in the first two weeks. After the first two weeks, you need to eat good carbs like whole grains. Wish me luck!
I got the latest Ben Stein book, and we also bought these books while we were there;

It couldn't hurt for us to have a "Straighforward Guide to the Inner Lives" of eachother. Check it out. If you look at the one for men to read, there are only 4 reviews. If you look at the one for women to read, there are 108! I guess women care more to learn about men than the other way around. This doesn't surprise me, but 4 versus 108!!! (Okay, update here: The one for men just came out a couple of months ago, while the one for women has been out for a couple of years.) I hope G reads his. I hope I read mine...
