I've learned some good tips from this show on PBS. This week I learned;
1. Glad Freezer Bags are the best at keeping food fresh.
2. The secret to fluffy dumplings for chicken and dumplings is to warm the milk in the microwave.
3. Chicken and dumplings is best made with thighs. Cook skin on, remove the skin, then separate the meat from the bone with two forks before putting in the pot.
4. Boston Baked Beans cannot be rushed. Slow cooking is the secret. Follow a good recipe closely because if you make things too acidic or too alkaline, your beans will either be hard or they'll explode and be mushy.
You have to register on their website to look up recipes and program info, but it's free and just takes a second.
